When Caitlin and I got in the car after Javonne and Ansel’s wedding, we looked at each other and said the same thing: “That was incredible.”
From the very beginning, the whole day felt intentional and beautifully planned. During their first look, they shared private vows, and the love between them was undeniable. It was quiet, heartfelt, and so them.
One of the most powerful moments came when they incorporated the tradition of jumping the broom, a meaningful way to honor Javonne’s heritage and their deep commitment to each other.
You could feel it in the air. Every single guest was thrilled to be there. It wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of something sacred.
They chose Red Butte Gardens for their venue because it’s a place they loved visiting together during their engagement and they wanted to carry that tradition into their marriage. The ceremony took place in the morning, and by lunchtime their guests decided it was time to dance. It turned into the most joyful, impromptu dance party. Such a fun surprise.
Afterward, guests were invited to walk the gardens and enjoy the peaceful beauty of nature. During that time, we captured some of my favorite portraits of them in the place where their love had grown.
Javonne and Ansel, thank you for trusting us with this day. Your joy was contagious. Your story is beautiful. And it was an honor to be there.
